beloved post 1.

Some books are incredibly interesting and other books are incredibly difficult to understand or comprehend. while reading the first chapter or so on Beloved by Toni Morrison is from my point of view a difficult read. For example Sethe is suppose to be the mother who has lost most of all her children through the spite of the house. I was not quite sure if it was a spirit of some sort until I read further into the chapter it mentions the fact that both sons of Sethe ran off by the thought of anything haunting them or in the presence of a spirit. For which they believe to be "Baby Suggs". Although she was not the presence/ spirit that occupied the house on 124 Bluestone Road. This presence was at times pure evil it could'nt have been the Baby Suggs. I especially was lost on page 11 who and what are the Sweet Home men. They are portrayed as good ol boys of Mr. and Mrs.Gardner, this sounds like a plantation when  its states" How come everybody run off from Sweet Home can't stop talking about it? Look if it was so sweet you would have stayed"(13).  This book has so much to offer as you get into the book and really ease into the flow of what the author is conveying you realize that Sethe has long been given a life blessed by good and bad things however she has lead a life full of hardship and grief that has emmersed itself into her past into her future. Much of Sethe's life has been an uphill battle and the presence of the ghost has made every waking moment and or memory of her past prevelent to the here and now.
